You know what sucks about being a man? We’re way too obsessed with being perfectionists. We either think that we’re not good enough for women, or we think that the woman we are with isn’t perfect, and we still have room for growth to date a better woman. The way I see it is that we’ve got to find the middle ground in our relationships. The perfect dream woman doesn’t exist and we should stop fantasizing about relationships that are unrealistic.
You will never be perfect enough for your absolute peak perfect woman, nor will you ever find such a woman. Relationships are meant to be imperfect and sometimes even painful and challenging. That’s what makes them freaking beautiful. I know that you’re a king and you deserve a queen. You should be with an incredible woman that you’re proud of calling yours, but you should also be proud of calling her your woman not just despite of but because of her flaws.
What I want for you is a relationship in which both of you can be real about your shortcomings and work on them together. To me, this is what it means to be kings and queens. To pull on the same strings. To build a kingdom that shines so bright that it inspires others to say “Their relationship is great. This is what I aspire for myself. So let me work on myself with compassion.”
